This drop-in class will explore different topics each week on the Alexander Technique through hands-on work, discussion, group activities and time for self-exploration. We’ll look at the power of habit and how it interferes with learning new skills and developing mastery; we’ll do more in-depth experiential research into specific parts of our musculo-skeletal system and how these parts work in relation to the whole; and we’ll dig into more complex movements in applying the work to activities. No previous experience is required but note that this class embraces a more open format wherein any starting point is valid for digging into an idea or topic related to the Technique.
(Sign up for one, or both)

This workshop is open to new and continuing students of the Alexander Technique. It will offer a comprehensive introduction to the Technique and more in-depth explorations through a variety of means including discussion, self-exploration, group activities and hands-on demonstrations. We’ll apply the Technique to everyday movements: activities such as sitting, standing, walking and bending. Learn how to be aware of and undo unhealthy postural habits that may cause discomfort or pain; Gain skills to be able to rest comfortably and effectively; experience moving with greater balance, ease and confidence.
Private Lessons are always available. If you’re interested in more individualized study, private lessons are the mainstay of my teaching practice.
Please contact me to further discuss any of these options for study.
